Re: Why Prof. Mills Boomed: NPP Planning Coup! Claims National Security Coordinator
. , 25/03/2009

We publish unedited below a rejoinder from the Public Information Department of the National Security Council Secretariat to our story headlined above. Editor

The Public Information Department of the National Security Council Secretariat wishes to comment on a misleading front page story in Vol. 22 No. 25, Monday 23, 2009 edition of your paper with the above headline as follows:

In the first place your "intelligence sources” or your “Castle sources” got it all wrong.

The National Security Coordinator was NOT at the Airport on the day Nana Akufo-Addo arrived at the Airport.

National Security's concern about the crowd that gathered at the Airport to welcome Nana Akufo-Addo was basically to facilitate easy entry and exit for passengers arriving and leaving the Airport and this was done through coordination with the Police.

It is also important to state that the National Security Coordinator has never been engaged in any fisticuffs with any of his subordinates since he assumed office.

Clearly your story is full of misleading facts that tend to misinform your readers about issues concerning National Security.

Please be informed that we at National Security are focused on ensuring the well-being and safety of everybody living in Ghana particularly those who conduct themselves and their business according to the law.

Please do not hesitate to contact the Public Information Department at the National Security Council Secretariat for clarification on issues concerning National Security.

(Signed)
